California Sunriders Blue Ridge Parkway Motorcycle Tour

When a scenic road comes with over 900 managed vista points you know you're up for a treat. The Blue Ridge Parkway meanders for 469 miles along the crests of the Southern Appalachian Mountains, linking Shenandoah National Park in Virginia with Great Smoky Mountains National Park in North Carolina. What you'll get to experience isn't just a scenic drive, it's a perfectly manicured masterpiece of parkway that offers vistas of unmatched beauty combined with slow-paced, relaxed riding. It describes the centre piece of this tour but it wouldn't be a Sunriders tour if there wasn't much more to it.

There's "The Big Easy", New Orleans, with its multi facetted vibrant French Quarter, Garden District and old haunted cemetaries.

Natchez, located at the mighty Mississippi River, builds the entrance to the historic Natchez Trace Parkway which leads us to the World's music capitol Nashville. Then the ride continues along the Cherohala Skyway which is another tidbit for every motorcyclist.

Of course you won't miss out on riding 318 curves within 11 miles on the Tail of the Dragon at Deals Gap, a must for everyone who visits the Smoky Mountains.

This fantastic journey ends in Washington D.C. why don't you add on a day or two and conclude your vacation with a visit and tour of the White House and monuments.

TAKE IT EASY

We've had a different approach in mind when we designed this tour. Rather than thriving off the sightseeing factor the likes of Grand Canyon, Monument Valley etc. seen on other tours (not that this one would be any short of sights...) this ride's theme is "cruise & takin' it easy".

This ride has a totally different vibe and there's much to take in on this trip so we want you to have ample time to do so.

GREAT FOOD:

We're going to ride through the U.S.'s BBQ capitals of Tennessee, North Carolina and Virginia and have scouted over two dozen of restaurants, varying from authentic to extraordinary. Expect to gain a few pounds on this culinary journey...

WHAT TO EXPECT

This tour is definitely not for those who like to ride long stretches of straight road. You gotta love riding your bike through curves, all kind of curves, tight ones, long stretched out ones, hairpin turns, anything from 5 to 360 degrees in radius. If you don't like riding curves you shouldn't book this tour.

GREAT HOTELS

One reason why we pre-run every tour is the hotels that we hand pick for each new ride. We found some incredibly awesome places for you to overnight at. We'll get there after a great day's ride, check in and enjoy hanging out together - each hotel has it's own unique setting and the category ranges from historic landmark hotels and mountain ridge lodges to river view hotels.
