Welcome to the City of Angels!
After arriving at the air port take the complimentary shuttle to the arrival hotel in Los Angeles. At the hotel please look for the California Sunriders welcome desk in the lobby and check in with us for your tour. | DAY 2 > Los Angeles to Big Bear |
150 miles / 240 km |
| |
After everyone gets their motorcycle assigned we receive a tour through the Harley-Davidson dealership. We know it's hard to stop you from shopping and tech-talking to the guys in the service department, but we need to get on the road, out of L.A. and into the mountains.
Angeles Crest Highway is one scenic ride along the rim of the Angeles National Forest. The curvy route leads us through Wrightwood which is the winter territory of ski and snowboard aficionados. Via Lake Arrowhead, another mountain lake resort, we reach Big Bear Lake, surrounded by lush landscapes, colorful blossoms, migratory birds and other wildlife. Pine trees are sprouting new shades of green, the skies are deep blue and the wildflowers are absolutely brilliant! L.A. is not just all about Hollywood and congested freeways and not many visitors know that there is such a great amount of incredicle scenic beauty in and around this city. |

| DAY 3 > Big Bear to Palm Springs |
150 miles / 240 km |
| |
Dropping down from the mountains we’re cruising through Joshua Tree National Park and head into the desert oasis of Palm Springs, winding ourselves through switchbacks and avoiding the freeway as much as we can. With over 100 golf courses, attractive desert style living and its proximity to Los Angeles or San Diego, this town has become a magnet for people from all walks of life and those that want to escape the winter to enjoy warm temperatures during the off season. Palm Canyon Drive entices with great restaurants that cater a variety of cuisine to its visitors and residents. As the sun goes down behind the mountains we sit and drink tasty, ice-cold margaritas watching the crowd pass by on the sidewalk. |

| DAY 4 > Palm Springs to Los Angeles |
250 miles / 400 km |
| |
We're leaving Palm Springs through the "back door" and pick up Ortega Highway. A twisty, windy road, lined with pine trees, leads us high into the San Jacinto Mountains and we roar west past Lake Hemet, Idyllwild and Lake Elsinore, where we stop for lunch. Accompanied by bright sunshine and warm wind we ascend further into Cleveland National Forest and reach San Juan Capistrano where we can already sense the Pacific.
As we reach the beach our route turns north and guides us through Laguna Beach and Newport Beach with prime vistas of the ocean. We stop in official Surf City USA, Huntington Beach for a short snack and a refreshing beverage at the pier before we take on the last and final leg of this tour, back to the Harley-Davidso dealership where we drop off our bikes and return back home.
